Money-Managing Farmers 2025 Impact Analysis

We prepared the 2025 impact analysis of the Money-Managing Farmers project implemented through the collaboration of FODER, Socotab Yaprak Tütün A.Ş. and Imperial Brands PLC. We measured tobacco-producing farmers’ financial management skills, economic awareness and the extent to which learning turned into behavior.

The 2025 round

The 2025 training took place in March and April in İzmir, Balıkesir, Manisa, Uşak, Denizli and Aydın, reaching 1,188 farmers in total. Denizli had the most participants, with 547. Topics covered the economic effects of inflation, simple and compound returns, debt and credit management, insurance and private pension options, separating the farm budget from the household budget, investment planning, and tracking income and expenses. Participation rose from 348 in 2024 to 1,188 in 2025, and the share of women rose from 16% to 27%.[1]

Findings

The report finds an average 9% increase in financial competency. The largest gains were in separating the farm budget from the household budget (18%), knowing how to protect against inflation (15%) and knowledge of investment products (13%). Among women, knowledge of inflation rose from 27% to 57%. 95% of participants said the training content met their needs.[1]

BigCat Research's role

BigCat Research prepared the interactive dashboard for the 2025 impact evaluation report published by FODER. The project continues in 2026 with the same partners, and BigCat Research is still monitoring it.[1][2]
