Background from public sources

Programme and partners

The My Sister (Kız Kardeşim) Project is run by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), Habitat Association and Coca-Cola Türkiye. It has run since 2015 and targets women aged 15 to 55 across all 81 provinces. Its aim is to offer training that helps women manage their personal finances, build entrepreneurship awareness and use information technologies. The training has six components: Safety in the Digital World, Financial Awareness for Individuals, Internet Advertising, Mobile Photography, a Training Programme for Women's Cooperatives, and Online Inspiration Meetings with Women Entrepreneurs.[1][3]

Scale

In April 2022, Coca-Cola Türkiye said the project had supported 429,000 women so far and aimed to reach 700,000 by the end of the year. According to the same announcement, the 2022 grant programme gives 60 women entrepreneurs 50,000 TL each, 3 million TL in total. In October 2022, the project was reported to have reached more than 450,000 women, and work with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry had reached 165 women's cooperatives.[3][4]

2021 social impact analysis

BigCat Research prepared the My Sister Project 2021 Social Impact Analysis and Grant Programme Report. Questionnaires were designed around the project's goals, participants were chosen through maximum variation sampling and surveyed, and the social impact of all activities was calculated using the Social Return on Investment (SROI) method. A total of 566 participants answered the survey. The report found that every 1 TL invested in the project produced 2.44 TL of social return.[1]

Four-year evaluation

The Four-Year Evaluation Report, also prepared by BigCat Research, is based on responses from 525 people who attended the training between 2018 and 2021, spread roughly evenly across the four years. 37% of participants own a business, and 17% increased their staff numbers. 71% said they had become more aware of the safety measures needed online. 84% were satisfied with the training content and 85% with the trainers.[2]
