Background from public sources

The programme

The Change Your Story Youth Camp (Hikâyeni Değiştir Gençlik Kampı) is run by the Community Volunteers Foundation (Toplum Gönüllüleri Vakfı, TOG) in partnership with Paribu. According to the foundation's announcement, the camp aims to support the social adjustment of young people affected by disasters.[1]

Camps and participants

The first gatherings took place in Gaziantep, Hatay and Adıyaman. A four-day camp in İzmir followed, bringing together 30 young people. Participants attended workshops on project cycle management, living together and social participation, and met specialists in these fields to ask questions. TOG says the goal is for participants to take what they learned to local projects and community work.[1]

BigCat Research's role

In 2025, BigCat Research carried out a social impact analysis of these training camps for Paribu and TOG. The study looked at how the camps affected resilience and psychosocial recovery among young people in the disaster-affected region.[2]
