Background from public sources
Programme and partners
Yeşil Gezegen (Green Planet) is an education project run by Habitat Association in partnership with the Türkiye Vodafone Foundation and Vodafone Türkiye. It aims to build environmental and disaster awareness among primary and middle school children aged 7-14 and to help them understand their individual and social responsibilities towards the world.[1][2]
Training format
The training, titled "Environmental Awareness and Disaster Education", runs online on Zoom and lasts two hours. It covers climate change, recycling, sustainability and disasters. Children who complete it can watch the "So what can I do now?" content on an online platform. Students who attend the full programme can join the "Kidathon" idea marathon.[1][2]
Green Planet GreenFest
About 600 children attended the Yeşil Gezegen GreenFest, held as part of the project at the Istanbul Planning Agency's Florya Campus. The event included a short film contest on the theme "Protect the Planet" for high school students aged 14-18. It also offered workshops such as seed ball making, recycled paper making and solar-powered wooden house design.[2][3]
